CCleaner for Android is an Android version of the popular software from Piriform, which allows users to clean up their devices, freeing up space and potentially making them safer and faster to use. The program works by analysing the device in question, identifying 'junk' files and removing them. CCleaner also allows users to manage their apps and keep track of CPU, RAM and battery usage, as well as internal memory storage.
Is CCleaner for Android free?
The software is free to use and all of the core features are available on the free version. However, a Professional version is also available for a small one-time fee, with a few additional features.
Is CCleaner for Android safe?
All versions of CCleaner for Android are safe to use. In 2017, there were reports that the service had been compromised, resulting in non-sensitive data about users being sent to a server in the United States. However, this only affected the 32-bit Windows version of the software and a fixed version was released within three days. The company worked with law enforcement and the server receiving the non-sensitive data was subsequently shut down.
Is the app easy to use?
The application is user-friendly and designed with inexperienced users in mind. Upon launching the app, users will be able to select the 'Analyse' option, which will then scan the device and identify junk files, before presenting various options for removing them individually or en masse. Other options are available from the main menu.
What devices is the app compatible with?
CCleaner for Android is compatible with any mobile or tablet device running Android 4.0 or above. This also includes Amazon Kindle Fire devices, which run an operating system based on Android.
Is CCleaner available on other platforms?

How do I upgrade to CCleaner Professional?
Users can upgrade to the paid Professional version of the software from within the app itself. A prompt to upgrade will appear when the app is launched and an upgrade symbol will also be shown next to any features that are exclusive to that version. There is also an option marked 'Upgrade to Professional' from within the main menu.
